AlterG in Action

Train Smarter, Progress Faster and Reduce Injuries

Until now only available to the elite, the AlterG Anti-Gravity Treadmill has been used by distance runners, top professional and Olympic athletes, and dozens of pro teams worldwide.

The AlterG allows you to add mileage without the stress on the body and train through injury, without pain (avoiding a loss in your fitness level).

Designed by NASA, the AlterG Anti-Gravity Treadmill is the first to allow you a normal non-impeded running experience, reducing the impact as your body goes through the normal healing process.

  • Precise unweighting allows you to walk or run at anywhere between 20-100 percent of your body weight.
  • Easily select your reduced body weight where running becomes pain free
  • Runners are using it to add up to 25% more miles without the impact
  • Provides the opportunity for a smooth progression back to full recovery when injured
  • Fun and easy to use – you can run like you’re on the moon!

Imagine Running 50 Pounds Lighter

Impact loading on the lower extremities is reduced by lowering body weight.  The FDA has cleared the AlterG Anti-Gravity Treadmill® for use in the following conditions:

  • lower body injury and surgery rehabilitation
  • aerobic conditioning
  • weight control and reduction
  • sport specific conditioning programs
  • neurological retraining
Train longer, run faster, gain additional strength and enhance cardiovascular performance:

  • overspeed training
  • interval training
  • lateral movement training
  • backwards running drills up to 10mph in reverse
  • hill training at up to 15% incline
Athletes need to be able to maintain high fitness levels while they are injured. Match the aerobic intensity of an athlete’s workout and lower the impact on his/her injured body by using a combination of adjustable variables:

  • weight adjustment (100% to 20% weight-bearing in 1% increments)
  • speed adjustment (0mph to 12mph)
  • incline adjustment (0% to 15%)
  • Exercise at fractional body weights to control metabolic workload and musculoskeletal strain while optimizing gait and range of motion
  • Exercise at reduced body weights to minimize joint stress and pain
  • Promote full range of motion to train for normal joint health and function
  • Motivation, empowerment and compliance enhanced from experiencing immediate perceived weight loss
  • Renewed functional capacity
  • Improves cardiovascular and musculoskeletal health in individuals that can’t exercise regularly
  • Accommodates individuals with up to 58″ waist
  • Makes it possible to run (even for very obese individuals)

AlterG is covered by most insurances.

Private pay rates and memberships are available.

Increase Training Volume and Minimize Injury

Supplement standard training with the AlterG Anti-Gravity Treadmill® and improve aerobic conditioning without increasing the risk of stress-related injury.  It provides accurate unweighting for a significant reduction in ground reaction force.
